Rough Idle When Stopped

Hey fellow Forte Koup owners,

I’ve been having an issue with my 2013 Kia Forte Koup recently, and I’m hoping someone here has had a similar experience or can offer some advice. The car has developed a rough idle when I’m stopped at lights or just idling in general. The engine doesn’t stall or anything, but there’s definitely a noticeable shake that I didn’t experience before. It’s starting to get pretty annoying.

I’ve done some basic troubleshooting, like cleaning the throttle body and checking for vacuum leaks, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. The car runs fine when I’m driving at higher speeds, and the check engine light hasn’t come on, so I’m kind of stumped.

I’m wondering if it could be an issue with the motor mounts or maybe the fuel injectors? I’ve read online that some people have had rough idling due to bad motor mounts or fuel system issues. I haven’t taken it to the shop yet because I want to avoid unnecessary repairs, but I also don’t want to let it get worse if it’s something serious.

Has anyone else experienced a rough idle with their 2013 Forte Koup? Is this something I should be concerned about? I’d love to hear your thoughts or suggestions on what could be causing this issue.

▪︎Battey (age, cables & braided ground)
▪︎Alternator (wires/connection)
▪︎Vehicle fluids
▪︎Fuel (dirty/water/contaminated)
▪︎Fuel pump (weak/low, dirty clogged)
▪︎Gas cap (not sealing)
▪︎Fuel pressure (weak/low)
▪︎Fuel injectors (dirty clogged, failing)
▪︎Spark plugs (correct plugs & gapped)
▪︎Ignition coil or coils (failing/old)
▪︎Engine sensors (crank, cam, exhaust, oil, coolant, knock, O2
▪︎MAP sensor (dirty)
▪︎Engine air filter (dirty)
▪︎Catalytic converter & or O2 sensors (clogged cat, O2's clogged/just old)

Easiest things one can do with basic tools & without tearing into the engine.

Best thing is get it scanned & see what code or codes.
